After four successful seasons of the Rivals Professional Football League with many players gaining NFL attention and 30-plus others earning CFL workouts, Year 5 of the RPFL is set to take off like a rocket.

The RPFL is currently an eight team professional football league that provides adult football players an opportunity to gain more experience while attaining great quality game film that can be used to market them to the NFL and the CFL. Each team in the RPFL will compete for 7 weeks during the 2018 season. The Miami Blaze, Atlantic Sharks, Florida Wolves and South Beach Silverbacks will compete in Florida from February to March. The Detroit Cougars, Oakland County Racers, Michigan Bearcats and Pontiac Generals will compete in Michigan from May to June. The top two teams from each state will then move on to compete in a televised League championship game after the regular season.

The RPFL currently has four teams in the state of Michigan, four teams in in the state of Florida and are adding four more teams for the 2019 season in Atlanta, Georgia. To get drafted into the Rivals Professional Football League all players must attend an RPFL tryout. All players that are invited to the draft after their tryout will be offered a 4 year/ $521,000 performance based incentive contract with a possibility of guaranteed money in the form of a base salary, signing bonus and or roster bonus. Players drafted in the 1st round of the 2019 RPFL Draft are guaranteed a signing bonus of up to $1,000.

The new 4 year/ $521,000 performance based incentive contract offers players the opportunity to earn more money than any of the years prior and CEO Quentin Hines feels that it will allow him to go after the best football talent available on the developmental market. Each year of the contract equals $130,250 which offers the player the opportunity to earn $20,000 through the RPFL Ticket Revenue Sharing Program, $40,000 in Sponsorship Recruitment Based Incentives and $461,200 in Performance Based Incentives. The Performance Based Incentives carry a weekly pay of $100-$1,000 per statistical category with minimums and any player can earn multiple incentives in the different categories during the same game. The Statistical Categories include Passing yards, Rushing Yards, Receiving Yards, Tackles, Sacks, Interceptions, Offensive lines who do not allow a sack and the Special Teams Player of the week. 

The RPFL was founded by former New England Patriot Quentin Hines. Hines dreamed of starting his own league when he was a running back at the University of Cincinnati under Brian Kelly. While healing from a training camp injury in 2013, Hines, who was signed as a free-agent out of Akron University, put his plan into effect over the winter and now begins year five of the soon to be twelve team Rivals Professional Football League.

CEO Quentin Hines is determined to find the best talent in the United States and will be holding open tryouts across the country for the 2019 RPFL Draft. Players will be measured by height, weight and perform combine specific drills like the broad jump, vertical jump, L cone drill and 40-yard dash. All players interested in trying out for the RPFL can reserve their spot at tryouts by following the link below. Players that perform well and impress the coaches and scouts at tryouts will be offered RPFL Draft invitations on the spot. All players that receive a draft invitation will be drafted and offered a contract. The total cost to tryout for the RPFL is $200. Players must pay $100 online to reserve their spot at the tryout and pay the remaining $100 in cash on the day of the tryout.

All players must be at least 18-years of age and have attended a tryout to be invited to the 2019 RPFL Draft. Games in Michigan will continue to be held at the beautifully renovated Wisner Memorial Stadium in Pontiac, Michigan. Games in Florida will continue to be held at Ted Hendricks Stadium in Hialeah, FL.
